“An
Italian friend of ours (who we usually see at the Donington GP) once
bought one of the pencil Rossi pictures for his son. On getting it
home, his good friend Giacomo Agostini saw it and liked it so much that
he wanted one for himself!
As soon as we found out about this relationship, we asked if he'd like
a picture of himself. After a bit of negotiating, we got Ago to sign
all 350 copies of the litho print.
As part of the deal, half the pictures went back to Italy and the other half stayed here in England.
The amazing thing about this story is that, as a kid, Agostini was my
first hero, and the first black and white bike picture I ever
painted! Here we were 35 years later, and the guy was
asking ME to do a picture of HIM!!”

We can reproduce this image onto canvas, however, its the prints that
carry the signature of Ago in pencil...............The reason they are
in pencil ?...........because it never fades. |
