Welcome to the web site of Steve Whyman which is dedicated to the work produced by europes premier motorcycle artist. If you have visited the site before you may have noticed it has a new look. There has been a slight change in structure to our small company. The web is now under the control of Steve’s wife Jackie, who also deals with the day to day administration and communication with customers and suppliers. Ian Holmes, of Motogpgenius, will continue to display a selection of the artwork at motorcycle race meetings and shows.
KNK Galleries, Nottingham continues to expertly produce the high quality prints and canvases and Steve, of course, will continue to do a bit of colouring in!!!
Since 1996 I have been doing the ‘art thing’ full time having finally being lucky enough to ‘kick into touch’ the daily treadmill. How many people are lucky enough to be able to do their hobby full time. The original intention was to draw dogs and pets, having always owned and trained dogs I had many contacts in that field. With my interest in bikes (which started back in the early 60’s) I decided to draw a few and the rest they say is history. I feel I have come a long way from the early days of having a few of my bike pictures displayed in the showroom at Clay Cross Powersports, Nottingham, to where I am today. I know that I am a very lucky person to basically be paid for doing something that I love. I don’t earn a fortune but you cannot put a price on being happy in your work. Recently (well 18 months ago) I met an old school friend of mine, Jackie, and well it seemed that the years since school floated away. So much so that we recently married in Austria. Ian Holmes, of Motogpgenius, is the face you will see at racetracks and bike shows displaying the art. Kap at KNK Gallery in Nottingham, is the guy responsible for all the quality framing, canvas stretching and printing and Jackie for admin, finance, e-mailing, web site and everything else!!
