Valentino Rossi first started using the Dreamtime helmet during the Winter Test session in Australia in 2007, but it was occasionally used in his 2008 MotoGP campaign.  The helmet design takes its inspiration from ancient Aboriginal art, which can be traced to the great spirit ancestors of the Dreamtime.
I have always liked this helmet and elements of the design spill over into some of his later helmets. Â It just lent itself to a colourful, vibrant abstract piece.
